The original kitchen for the Mission where simple meals were prepared for the monks and nuns. The food would be served in separate dining rooms for the monks and nuns as they always ate separately except on ‘Feast’ days. It was essential that the cook remembered to lay the tables correctly as the nuns and monks were not permitted to ask for anything that was not provided, or had been forgotten.
