In the heart of the lush Ixopo KZN hills, lies a hidden gem – a guest house, venue and restaurant on an old mission farm build by Trappist Monks in 1896.
Explore an old mission farm and maize mill built by Trappist Monks over a century ago.
For over a hundred years, the farm was run by monks overseen by the Mariannhill Monastery, with it’s sole purpose ‘to grow and supply food’ to the neighbouring Mariathal Mission and St Mary’s Seminary. In the year 2000, it was lovingly restored and transformed into Kings Grant Country Retreat.
